- Brave integrates Binance API to allow users to get seamless access to crypto via its web-browser
- BAT has gained over 20% since the announcement and is currently trading above $0.1600
- The partnership is expected to boost adoption by making it easy for mobile users to interact with crypto
On March 24, 2020, Blockchain-based web browser Brave signed a new partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Binance, allowing Brave users to trade directly on Binance.
Aside from specific emphasis on privacy, the Brave web browser has been focusing on crypto over the past couple of months. The startup even recently launched its own cryptocurrency, dubbed the Basic Attention Token (BAT).
The privacy-oriented web-browser has integrated Binance API to allow users to get seamless and instant access to the Binance account, buy, sell and receive cryptocurrencies supported by the exchange right from the new tab page in a browser window. Also, the users will be able to view the balances.
In an imminent release, Brave will support many other cryptocurrencies beyond BAT, such as BTC, ETH, and many others. When users open a new tab on their mobile browser, there will be a new Binance -branded widget below the Brave Rewards widget. It will allow the user to integrate with Binance.com and Binance.US directly.
Why This Partnership Matters
Unfortunately, crypto still doesn’t have nearly the same level of adoption as a traditional digital currency. The Brave browser, though not as popular as Google Chrome or Windows Explorer, focuses on performance, privacy, and creating a way to support websites without the need for intrusive, targeted ads, which has helped it grow its user base to over 10 million monthly users.
Brendan Eich, CEO, and co-founder of Brave explained the importance of the Binance integration by saying:
“By bringing a leading exchange like Binance directly into the browser, Brave is taking cryptocurrency trading mainstream and enabling users to conduct transactions with ease.”
Meanwhile, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao shared his excitement by stating that he is looking forward to a long-term partnership with Brave to make it even easier to interact with crypto and encourage more utility in the near future.
Presently, this new Brave browser feature is only available in Brave’s Nightly desktop version, but will soon be accessible in any desktop version from April.
Binance Partnership Boosts BAT
The Brave native coin got a boost on the Brave and Binance partnership announcement. Following the news, BAT jumped over 13% on the day while BNB was trading flat.
BAT is currently trading at $0.1603 at the time of writing according to data from CoinMarketCap.
