According to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on January 28, its fan token is now available for sale on the blockchain platform Socios.
Holders of the $PSG Fan Token will be able to use it to vote on an inspirational message to appear on the captain’s (Thiago Silva) armband on the pitch.
Socios also announced that the PSG fan token offering (FTO) is now open on its website. Another token provided by Socios is an AR token hunt game for its Chiliz $CHZ tokens and may be consecutively utilized to purchase PSG’s fan token.
Team supporters have the opportunity to use fan tokens to vote in numerous binding and non-binding cosmetic decisions such as the choice of club’s jersey color, stadium music and logo. Likewise, they can use it to vote on some sports aspects such as MVP, Player of the Match or Month, friendlies matches, summer tours, charity line-ups, and more.
Rewards points will be offered to PSG fans who partake in the polling process. The number of rewards points held by a user determines the likelihood of winning prizes such as special merchandise, VIP tickets, or a chance of meeting players.
A report said PSG first collaborated with Socios for the development of its fan token based on blockchain in September 2018. Such an initiative prompted other leading soccer teams globally to work towards the development of their token assets.
Following the announcement of the collaboration between Socios and PSG, Juventus said that it too was working on a fan token with Socios.
Some days ago, Juventus fans for the first time used the fan token to vote on a new goal celebration song. They decided on playing Blur’s Song 2 every time the club scores a goal at home.
Socios is run by Chiliz, based in Malta. Chiliz is likewise launching an exchange for fans towards the trading of sports and entertainment tokens. Socios soccer partnership tokens will be the first to be listed when the exchange opens next month.
